v1.2.0 is now out of Beta!

I've been working hard to fix DMG and Super Gameboy regressions that have been happening slowly over time, and I've been really squashing bugs with this stable release. It feels very polished and now, runs completely bug-free. All the menus are uniform, all the text is easy to read, and nothing is broken. (Finally!) So I feel this is a big enough milestone update worthy of a devblog post.

Here are the changelogs since version 1.19, below...

Changelog for v1.2.0 beta:

  • Unified all the menus and menu text for better clarity, especially on the DMG-01 and Pocket (Monochrome Gameboys).
  • Changed the versioning number to indicate if there have been any small changes, and changed to the standard font for easier editing in the future.
  • Changed the Start and Select button graphics in the Button Test to better represent the DMG-01 when played in Monochrome mode.
  • Adjusted some sub-menu graphics.
  • Adjusted a timing issue on the Startup screen.
  • General system stability improvements to enhance the user's experience.

Changelog from v1.2.0 beta to v1.2.0 stable:

  • Adjusted the train speed to be slower for DMG and Pocket, due to the lower LCD response-time. (The Super Gameboy, Gameboy Color, and Gameboy Advance will all have the faster train speed.)
  • Moved the menu selections up in the Main Menus, as well as the Button Tests menu.
  • Super Gameboy detection has been added, defaulting to a grayscale pallet except for some of the TV test patterns and the Super Gameboy Logo.
  • Added a small 2 second delay before showing the Super Gameboy Detection screen, allowing time for the custom SGB border to come through first. It used to all come it at once, and was a bit much to look at.
  • Fixed proper Super Gameboy color pallets in all menus, so no more rogue funky colors in SGB mode.
  • Redesigned the "Press B to exit." notifs at the end of the Parallax Test and on the screen lens alightment tools.
  • Changed the itch.io URL on the SGB border to my linktree URL.
  • General system stability improvements to enhance the user's experience.
